Living in the lulls

Maybe we have it backwards.  Maybe the weeks God remains silent aren’t lulls in between the times when our faith is solid and secure.  Maybe those “good times” are just moments of preparation for the the real deal, the upcoming season when God lets go of our hand and lets us walk on our own.  And instead of begging Him to speak to us in those times, we should praise Him for trusting us.  Instead of falling down in tears, waiting for Him to pick us up again, maybe we should smile and run forward with confidence until we reach His open, waiting arms—for we know He can never stay away from His children too long.
